- Municipal, Stormwater, Capital Improvement Project (CIP)
The Story
The capital stormwater improvement project was under the Charlotte Storm Water Services (CSW) division. The project consisted of the installation of culverts and pipe systems as well as improvements to open channels. DPR conducted an engineering study and prepared a planning report that comprised multiple possible alternatives and cost/benefit analysis to alleviate flooding and erosion problems in the study area.
DPR completed the design and construction drawings for the selected alternative during the design phase, and worked closely with CWS, other municipal entities, and the public in conducting neighborhood meetings, coordinating the complex existing utility facilities in the project vicinity, and proposing appropriate traffic control/detour measures. DPR also assisted CWS in maneuvering successfully through permitting and easement acquisition processes and the bid and construction phases.
The $1.4M project was completed in January 2006.
Work Date: April 2002 – September 2005
